Description:

A major achievement of Fisher Controls was the elimination of 1,1,1 trichloroethane (TCA) from it's operation. TCA was use to degrease metal parts in its surface preparation unit. TCA was eliminated by converting to a multiple stage water wash tank.

Environmental Benefits:

Fisher controls eliminated 2,200 gallons of waste requiring monthly monitoring by using this process.

Details of Reductions

Additional Information :

The purchase, disposal and regulatory fees associated with the TCA came to approximately $20,000 a year. The new process costs $300 to $500 a year.
