Allchem is involved in blending of both liquid and solid chemicals (60% liquid, 40% solid) . In terms of products, the company blends special chemicals, agriculture chemicals (fertilizers), oil field chemicals, concrete grinding aids, and concrete sealants. The majority of chemical compounds are blended and packaged in non-bulk packaging. Allchem does not manufacture any kind of chemicals. Allchem has been using a section of the roof to collect rain water for concrete grinding mix

P2 Application:

Allchem is very proactive in protection of natural resources. An example of environmental resourcefulness and strong commitment to pollution prevention is water conservation. The company has been using a 8830 square foot section of the roof to collect rain water which is used in concrete grinding aid mix. Since the amount of average rainfall in the Houston area is about 45 inches per year and the evaporation rate is almost zero, the total volume of collected rain water is approximately 250,000 gallons per year.

Environmental Benefits:

An annual 250,000 gallons of water is saved by Allchem. With shrinking water resources in the area, this is a success story.

Details of Reductions

Additional Information :

Although the cost saving is less than $500, nevertheless, by conserving 270,000 gallons of water, the company contributes significantly in preservation of water resources.
