Description:

P2 Application:

The recycler gave Sunbelt Transformer approximately $0.01 for every pound of mixed metal material. By segregating the material, Sunbelt Transformer received $0.18 - $0.91 per pound of scrap metal. In fact, the additional segregation effort increased total revenue from metal recycling by more than $100,000 in 1995.

Environmental Benefits:

In addition to the 335,000 pounds of scrap metal recycled per year, Sunbelt Transformer recycles over 800,000 pounds of other materials. This translates into 1,135,000 pounds of materials kept from our landfills per year.

The company earned a combined savings of $1,144,000 per year in revenue earned and disposal costs by segregating various scrap metal.
