Environmental Benefits:

The elimination of this hazardous waste stream accounts for a reduction of 47% of the total hazardous waste generated at the Houston Chemical Complex. The quantity of this wste stream that was generated in 1992 and 1993, and thus now eliminated, was 6.8 million pounds and 3.3 million pounds, respectively. This project will also eliminate the release of about 112 tons of permitted pollutants from the boiler stack and other Polypropylene Plant emission points.
